img_7415Tory Enerson, Head of School
Ms. Tory joined the Apple Staff in 2016.  She began her journey with Montessori over 20 years ago when first her daughter and then her twin boys joined a small one-room Montessori school in Columbia, MD. The care and respect for the child, the process of learning and the beautiful learning environment enticed her into the classroom.  She began in the classroom as a substitute teacher, then as an assistant, and for the last twelve years a certified Montessori teacher.  Ms. Tory holds an American Montessori Society (AMS) Early Childhood Credential and has a BFA in Graphic Design from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. She enjoys her role at Apple Montessori supporting the learning environment for  both the children and the adults and working with the talented and dedicated staff. During the summer Ms. Tory is a teacher trainer at the Montgomery Montessori Institute.

Ruth Risco is the Director of Admissions.  She joined Apple Montessori in 2011 as the head of Apple Montessori’s Aftercare Program and thoroughly enjoyed working with the children. As Director of Admissions she graciously introduces families to Apple.  In the office she wears many hats and is the person to go to for answers to administrative questions.  She enjoys helping parents and interacting with the children.  Mrs. Risco is a huge soccer fan and enjoys spending time with her family.

Miss Susy works with Miss Avery.  She loves working with young children and watching them grow and learn.  Outside of school she is working on her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  She also enjoys traveling and experiencing the differing cultures and beauty our world has to offer.  Family, teaching and travel fill her life.

Miss Avery joined the Apple staff in 2015.  Miss Avery first experienced Montessori as a young child in a Montessori primary class. She returned to Montessori after graduating from West Virginia University and worked in Montessori classrooms for four years. Summer 2015 she took the Montessori teacher training and now has joined us as a lead teacher in room 2. In her free time she likes to spend time with her dogs and go to the beach. She is also a huge sports fan.

 

 

 Marshetta Davis  

Marshetta Davis joined Apple Montessori in 2008 and is a trained Montessori assistant in Miss Avery’s class.  Mrs. Davis is a freelance artist and plans to pursue a B.S. in early childhood education. She loves working with the children and sharing her love of music and art. She also enjoys stimulating the children’s imagination through books and the creation of original stories with the children.  Outside of school Mrs. Davis is very busy keeping up with her husband and her five children.

 

 

Nighat Quadri
Mrs. Quadri joined Apple Montessori in 2002.  She holds AMS certifications for both Primary and Infant and Toddler programs.  Mrs. Quadri also has a degree from the University of Punjab in Pakistan. Her two sons are grown and pursuing medical careers. Mrs. Quadri enjoys working with children of all ages, but especially the two year olds.  She strives to provide a rich environment that allows children to practice their social skills, improve their motor skills, expand their vocabulary and explore art, music and the outdoors.

Hillary joined Apple in 2014 and assists Mrs. Quadri in Room 4.  She delights in working with young children.  She is presently working on her Associate of Arts in teaching in Early Child Care/ Special Education.

 

 

 

 

CinthyaCinthya Burgos
Cinthya Burgos joined Apple Montessori in 2009 as a teacher’s assistant.  She found the experience so rewarding she took the Montessori Training at the Montgomery Montessori Institute and received her AMS diploma for Infants and Toddlers. Mrs. Burgos holds a B.A. in Biology from the Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru.  Mrs. Burgos came to Apple with over 14 years experience in child care including working with autistic children.  Mrs. Burgos truly enjoys her class in Room 11. She strives to help the children become independent and confident individuals. Mrs. Burgos has a son who is in college.

 

 

XiomaraXiomara Duarte
Xiomara Duarte joined Apple Montessori in 2010 as a teaching assistant with Mrs. Cinthya’s in the two-year-old program. She loves the enthusiasm and energy of the twos and enjoys helping them become more independent.  Xiomara has her B.S. in Psychology from the Ana G. Mendez University in Maryland.  She has a teenage son and a daughter who graduated from Apple Montessori and is now in fourth grade.

Miss Nicole is working with Miss Cinthya and Miss Xiomara. She enjoys working with young children and plans to become a certified teacher. She spends her free time working with dogs and running.

 

 

 

Kiana Motiei

Kiana Motiei joined the Apple Staff in 2015 as the lead teacher in our After Care Program. She has worked in childcare for three years and is excited to meet and work with your children. She is currently a student at Montgomery College.

 

Monica Romero

Monica joined the Apple Staff in August 2016 as the aftercare teacher assistant in our After Care Program.  She enjoys working with young children and is currently a student at Montgomery College.  She is working on her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  Outside of work, she loves to spend time with family and her dog.

 

amy beamAmy Beam
Amy Beam has worked at Apple Montessori for over thirty years.  At first she taught Spanish classes and drama. However she found her true love in sharing her passion for the outdoors with the children.  Every Wednesday she takes the children outside to participate in Beyond the Walls a nature awareness program.

Cindi Lackey has been teaching the dance program at Apple for over 17 years.  She teaches basic ballet and tap steps.  As the children master the steps their body movements become more precise and rhythmic.

 

 

 

JulieJulie Billingsley

Julie Billingsley has been working for Apple Montessori since September 2008.  Miss Julie has a Montessori Diploma from London Montessori Center and a M.A. in Music Education from London University.  Miss Julie is with us two Thursday a month.  She really enjoys  getting to know and working with our Apple children.
